Overview: The York County History Center will be offering Free Guided Tours of the Historic Bonham House (across from Martin Library). Although the tours are free, donations will be appreciated.
Horace Bonham trained as a lawyer, but his real passion was in artwork. He spent most of his life as a painter of portraits, landscapes and genre scenes, and many of his paintings can be seen in the house.

Overview: Based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lindsey Lively earned an MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2021. Her thesis revolved around memory and perception, roles within the nuclear family, gender roles and stereotypes, the relationship between abstraction and representation, and the psychological impact of paint handling—conveying energy and meaning with her brushstrokes.

Overview: Come visit Featured Artist: Sukey Starkey at Pardon My French in Downtown York PA on Beaver Street.
Sukey Starkey, a retired teacher, combines her love of teaching with mosaic art. Using stained glass, river pebbles, tiles, baubles and other tesserae she creates colorful pieces that include abstract free form works as well as more geometric designs.

Overview: Recent Encaustic Paintings by artist Terri Yacovelli will be featured at Gallery at 227. "Mixing Color" from August 20- September 30, 2022.

Overview: It's never too early to begin thinking about Fall! We will be providing materials for you to create a centerpiece or decorative pumpkin for your home, made out of paper mache or foam. We will be offering the use of paints, stickers, glue, fabric, and ribbon. These pumpkins are kid friendly to make, and so much fun to create together! We will be offering two pumpkins to decorate for $6! 🎃🎃
While you wait for your pumpkins to dry, we invite you to shop our marketplaces filled with thousands of unique, handcrafted items, and browse The Gallery at New York Wire Works, which features fine artists from the York area and beyond.

Overview: St. John Episcopal Church is proudly exhibiting contemporary art by Russian born artist Ludmila Pawlowska. Inspired by traditional Russian Orthodox Icons, ICONS in Transformation is a dramatic and inspiring traveling exhibit of art which has toured cathedrals and museums throughout Europe and the United States.
Ludmila Pawlowska offers a rare opportunity to see both her work and the path of her contemporary vision derived from traditional Russian icons, their transformative power, and her unique painting techniques. This is not necessarily an exhibition about icons, but about Ludmila’s inspiration derived from the icons and her vision of their transformative power.
The exhibit will be on display at St. John Episcopal Church, located at 140 N. Beaver St., York, PA. The exhibit will be open Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00PM to 5:00PM, beginning August 21 through October 30, 2022. Docents will be on site to answer questions.
All are welcome and admission is free.

We'll be featuring a special exhibition of works from our artists and makers for York Arts Week with a special opening reception on Wednesday, August 24th from 5:30pm-8:30pm. Artists will be there to provide a short introduction of who they are, what drives them to do what they do, and share a little bit about their exhibit on display. The exhibition will take place in the upstairs of Artemis Vintage and will be on show and open for viewing following the opening reception during normal business hours for the extent of York Arts Week

7:00PM - GRRRL JUSTICE FILM TALK
Grrrl Justice is a short narrative film that examines how traumatic backgrounds attach young people to systems that criminalize them rather than alleviate the impacts of systemic oppression in their lives.
After viewing the 16 minute film, join Crystal Perry, Human Advocacy Trafficking Coordinator with the YWCA, and Teasia Gray, Youth Counselor with the York County Youth Development Center, for a conversation about bringing these topics back to York.

Overview: Paint Nights at Union are a wonderful opportunity for us and our community to gather around the gift of Art.
The one and only Amy Mummert will once again lead our Paint Night.
This one is slightly different, we will have some supplies available, but suggest bringing these items if you have them. Scissors that will cut heavy watercolor paper, elmers glue (not a glue stick and not the "school glue"), and paint pens, especially a white one. We will begin promptly at 6.00 pm.
Please RSVP in the discussion section by Sunday July 17th. Post your name and if you have others coming with you (example: Amy +2). Children 8 and older are invited to attend with a parent or guardian.
We are asking for a $5 donation to cover all supplies and instruction.
If you have your own supplies, or cost would be prohibitive, the event is totally free!

Overview: We are thrilled to reveal an exclusive premier of our combined efforts: a multi-set, life sized playing card shoot featuring the queen of hearts, jack of diamonds, king of spades, and the joker. The team put incredible intentionality into each component, crafting an individual storyline for each character around one singular concept... A kingdom is not always as strong as it appears, and the only way to survive a lie is to brutally face the truth.
*After checking out the main storyline on the big screen, feel free to browse the viewing bar where some of our apprentices are showing their own work!

Overview: America is the home of the Lindy Hop! Our Friday Swing Dances are an opportunity for us to spend time sharing this cultural pastime with our community and as such, are open to the public. There is a free beginner lesson available from 7-7:30. This lesson is designed to accommodate little to no experience with dancing. You can come with a partner, group, or solo. The social dancing runs from 8-10pm, with a $10 admission. The Victrola Dance Hall facilitates a social environment. Rotating deejays provide music suitable for swing dancing. Attendees are encouraged to invite each other for dances throughout the night, which is a great way to build friendships and practice skills. Dancers are encouraged to accept or decline invitations as they wish.
*This is a family-friendly social. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
About: Victrola Dance Hall dedicates itself to the practice and preservation of social dance education in our community by offering instruction in the form of private lessons, wedding dance preparation, event enhancement, performances, and group classes.

Location: Harmony Cafe's Courtyard
Overview: Find your voice at the new Harmony Cafe from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Join York’s poets, writers, and artists for an afternoon of literature led by Lizz Dawson. This event is curated to help you explore the accessible and healing essence of writing and sharing your work.
Head through the brick tunnel into the courtyard where you’ll hear live readers perform while you relax in an outdoor reading room. Play with magnetic poetry, blackout poems, and Scrabble pieces. Go old school and try a classic typewriter or grab a Story Supply Co. notebook and put pencil to paper.
There will be opportunities to hang your written work anonymously in the courtyard. Or sign up to read a short piece aloud! Featured writers—Kaila Young, Lou Cohick, Carla Christopher, Vito Grippi, and Ikysha Jones—will kick off two open mic periods at noon and 1:30 PM. Come to listen to these incredible writers or to create a piece of your own.
